European Association of Establishment for Veterinary Education (EAEVE)

The European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) was founded in 1988 and initially based in Maisons-Alfort, France. Later, the administrative office was based in Brussels, Belgium and since 2007, the seat of EAEVE and its offices have been in Vienna, Austria.

Members are the faculties, schools and universities involved in teaching and research in veterinary medicine and science. In 2021, out of the 110 Veterinary Education Establishments (VEE) existing in Europe, 101 are members of the EAEVE.

The Department of Veterinary Sciences (former Faculty of Veterinary Medicine) of the University of Pisa was first visited in a.y. 1997-1998. On that occasion, our VEE was not approved. The second visit in 2009 showed two major deficiencies that were corrected in 2012 when a re-visitation resulted in full approval.

The department is currently fully accredited with end-of-granted status in April 2029.
